Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”

Mark 1: 35-37 NKJV

There are no great feats without great sacrifices. There can be no supernatural manifestation without a prayer connection. Christ, our example of divinity in human form maintained an unusually strong connection with the Father in the place of prayer.

No amount of grace, faith, holiness, wisdom, planning or strategies can take the place of prayer in our attempt to fulfil God’s purpose for our lives. Sometimes our over-emphasis on an aspect of our Christian walk to the detriment or negligence of the others only cheats us of the fullness of God for our lives. The scripture says “Man shall not live by bread alone but by EVERY Word of God” (Luke 4:4), that is, the word of God on faith, grace, prayer, wisdom etc. Every subject matter of God’s Word. “ALL scripture is given…” (2Tim. 3:16).

So here we see Jesus, a man of Faith, the Word Himself, an embodiment of grace, an expression of holiness and purity, the manifestation of God’s love and wisdom, rising up early, a great while before dawn, to a solitary place to PRAY.

PRAYER: Father, teach me to pay attention to all of the instructions in the Word that I may live a well-rounded life. Teach me to prioritize the place of prayer in Jesus’ name.
