And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do all my will.’
Acts 13:22 NKJV
God made all that man will ever need before he was ever made. God made the heavens and the earth with man in mind and put him in charge of everything. Like a loving Father, God has always desired for man to live in the fullness of His blessings.
In 1 Corinthians 3:21 He states that “all things are yours.” In 2 Peter 1:3 He says “His power has given to us all things.” Scriptures further declared “if God did not withhold His only begotten Son from us how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things.” In 3 John 2 we are encouraged with “beloved I wish above all that you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers.” You can see from the above scriptures that God is the protagonist of our success and prosperity. He is not against us having things and we are free to seek Him for things.
However, there is so much more in God for us and the life He has called us to is a life of relationship and fellowship. He wants you to desire more than the things in His hands. He desires men who desire His heart. What is the central theme of your relationship with God? What is the focus of your pursuit of God? Who He is or what He can do for you? His heart or His hands?
Ponder upon these questions and answer them as honestly as possible. We shall continue tomorrow…
