For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
The bible says “Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh.” The devil oftentimes has successfully kept our focus on the wrong object (people, circumstances, etc.) while having a field day behind the scene.
He uses people and things as a decoy to distract attention from himself. We fight our neighbors, colleagues, partners, an uncle, a witch in the village, a boss, the government, the systems etc. meanwhile there is an unseen hand of the puppeteer controlling things.
There is need for us to realize that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (physical or natural) but spiritual so we need to approach it not with a natural but spiritual mindset (prayers, the Word of God and the leading of the Spirit).
When Jesus spoke to his disciples about his death, Peter rebuked Jesus and tried talking him out of it. Jesus didn’t focus on Peter but the devil speaking through peter, He addressed the issue by rebuking the devil “Get thee behind me Satan.”
Christ has won everything for us, we are an occupational army to retain and maintain the victory Jesus won for us. The only enemy we have is Satan, and the bible calls him a thief, a liar and a deceiver. The bible says we should resist him steadfastly in faith.
The tactics of the devil is to keep you chasing shadows while pillaging your health, peace, marriage, finances, etc. His strategy is in his decoy, masquerading and camouflaging
Remember, we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Stop fighting men. Focus on the real enemy. You have authority in the name of Jesus to send Satan fleeing, and this authority lies in the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the word of God.
