It might interest you to know that Satan knows the truth and submits to the truth. Listen to what he said about Job “…you blessed him and built a hedge around him” (Job 1:10) but listen to what Job said “I was not safe” (Job 3:25-26).

Job was focused and preoccupied with what the devil could do and was never conscious of what God had done. And a lot of believers are like this. Satan talked about what God had done – “you blessed him and built a hedge around him…” whereas it was Job who was supposed to be fixated on this truth. Your focus and consciousness determine what you attract to yourself.

Satan is seeking whom to devour. Like a shark he is sniffing for blood, for an aroma of sickness, doubt, failure, fear, defeat and want, that he might establish it and hand it to you. Fear opens the door for the devil to operate. The bible says give no room for the devil. Many things open the door for the devil; fear, unbelief, doubt, negative speech, ignorance – all of these open the door for the devil.

We are required to resist the devil steadfastly in faith, to shut the door to him. How? By speaking the truth and continuing to speak the truth in the face of the facts. By your words you will be condemned and by your words you will be saved, for we overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the words of our testimonies.

Release the aroma and fragrance of life by your meditation and imagination. The image you create on the inside of you as inspired by the truth of God’s Word is what truly matters. Remember, as a man thinks in His heart so he is.
