Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

I Peter 1:3 NKJV

A few days ago we touched on this subject but I feel there is a need to reiterate and further expound on the matter. The concepts of being forgiven and being begotten are worlds apart. They are not the same thing at all. Our knowledge of the difference will make a remarkable impact on our lives. Many Christians are living their Christian lives like those who are just forgiven, they are therefore always going back to get more forgiveness, always conscious of the likelihood of being out of fellowship with God. They always have to ask God to forgive them before they can approach Him. They are simply living in the consciousness of being the forgiven and not the begotten.

We are not only forgiven, but we are also begotten of the Father. In forgiveness, your sin is pardoned, but in being begotten you now have the nature of God. Hallelujah!!!

You are more than a sinner saved by grace, you have now been born of God. You now have the nature of God in which is contained holiness, righteousness, sanctification, eternal life and countless other benefits. You are God’s offspring; no longer possessing the nature of sin, iniquity and wickedness.

Our attention ought to be more on our new nature rather than on our old nature. Now we need to be more conscious of our new nature, cultivate our new nature, feed our new nature, accept and express our new nature.

To be continued…
