“Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

Mark 5: 25-34 NKJV

Today, multitudes just like in the days of Jesus will throng to church, sing worship songs and dance praises unto God, shout “preach it pastor!” But only a few will truly connect with the Master and leave with a testimony.

While your emotionalism and show of passion may encourage your pastor and impress those around you, it is your faith that connects you to the source of power. It is your singleness of mind, your focused belief in the Person of Jesus to meet your need that releases the power of God unto you.

It is your Faith that touches the Master, connects you to the source of power and gives you testimony.

That woman, unlike many, went with an expectation, a strong desire, and a firm belief in the person of Jesus. That belief inspired faith’s action and released the power of God to meet her particular need.

Never come before God with an empty heart, distracted mind and unfocused belief. It is like the thirsty going to the well with nothing to draw water.

Therefore, as you go to church this morning settle it with God in your heart what you’re taking out of His presence, set your expectations, see those needs met, those questions answered, the mountains melt. Open up your heart to receive direction. Irrespective of where you’re seated in church, see Him who is invisible, connect with Him who is the same yesterday, today and forever.

And as a minister, preacher, singer or otherwise, never go without expectation of what you want God to do in and through you.

Faith in God never returns empty. Have a testimony filled service in Jesus name.
