“There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death”.
Proverbs 14:12 NKJV
The choices we make in life matter a lot and determine the outcomes of our lives. Decisions determine destiny and should therefore not be taken with levity. Our choices either make or mar us.
God has embedded in everyone the power of will. The common justification for moral compromise is “I had no choice.” Sure you do have a choice; choice of attitude, character, words, reactions, who to marry, course to study, career path to tow, things or people we allow into our territory, company we keep and so on.
Remember king Solomon’s choice of getting hooked to women of strange faith, whose culture and belief system were alien to God’s instructions; they turned his heart away from God and led him to into idolatry (1 Kings 11:1-13). Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived, ended badly because of wrong choices. Your status, riches, connections, past success is never a protection against the consequence of your wrong choice today.
God has given us His Word and the Holy Spirit to guide us in all we do. Therefore, we must learn to consult the Word of God and allow the Spirit of God to witness to every decision we make. Seek God’s face first and follow His guide all the way. His plans and choices for us are far wiser and better than any choice we could ever make on our own. No matter how good it seems or how beautiful it looks, it cannot be compared to His (Genesis 13: 9-11, Jeremiah 29:11).
In making decisions never compare yourself with anyone and never let what’s going on or seems to be working in someone else’s life, be the basis of your decision or allow it to put you under pressure. The fact that Mr. A is making it in his career or business doesn’t mean you will make it in that same line. Learn to follow God’s plan for your life, stay in your calling and don’t follow the crowd.
Dear wife, don’t put pressure on your husband by unhealthy comparison and dear husband don’t erode the self-esteem of your wife by comparing her with your secretary or another lady. Things are not always the way they appear. Unhealthy comparison leads to bad choices and undesirable outcomes. The little choices we make today affect tomorrow. Make it well, it matters.
Thank you sir! God bless you sir
Amen!!!
