“Do you see a man skillful and experienced in his work? He will stand [in honor] before kings; He will not stand before obscure men.”

PROVERBS 22:29 AMP

I like Grammy award nights, Oscar award nights, FIFA award nights and several award nights, because if anything, they bring the above scripture to light. There are thousands, tens of thousands or may be even hundreds of thousands of actors and actresses who performed in the course of the year, but only a few distinguished ones are rewarded. Several athletes participate in the Olympics, only few are remembered. Those nights are nights dedicated to recognizing and celebrating efforts, grinding, sweating, repeated failures and mistakes in order to achieve perfection, and labor carried out in obscurity. Unknown and unnoticed sleepless nights, burning of the midnight candles, sacrificing leisure time, in order to learn, to perfect, to develop, and evolve.

Every new day, every new week is an opportunity to work at your dream in order to stand before kings and nobles. To be recognized, rewarded and celebrated in any area of life, there must be a high level of diligence, hard work and preparation (fully prepared and fully armed).

Every one of us has great dreams of what we want to become or things we want to achieve, but go beyond dreaming; acquire the right skills and techniques needed for the dream to materialize, relate with people in that field, volunteer, serve,  gain experience, gather knowledge, study, research, develop your skill and launch out gradually. The little efforts matter a lot and will go a long way in helping to achieve your dream.

Footballers and officials in the world of soccer gathered together at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris on Monday 2 December, 2019 to recognize the best of the best in football; Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk were nominated for the best of the best (the BALLON D’OR) in recognition of the year’s consistent hard work and excellence. Messi, the eventual winner won it for the sixth. Work with your ballon d’or in mind, fully armed for that big stage.
