Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
I Thessalonians 5: 16-18 NKJV
Yesterday, we began with the importance of reflecting upon and evaluating 2024 in order to make 2025 a better year. To evaluate the year 2024, we must begin by looking at the things we are grateful for. Gratitude brings joy, and joy releases unto us positive energy that gives us the impetus to strive. Being grateful helps us to develop a positive mental attitude no matter the circumstance. Positive mental attitude is a state of mind and outlook on life that helps us see opportunity in opposition, message in a mess, and stepping stones in stumbling blocks.
We need to enter 2025 with that kind of outlook and energy. Therefore, look at the things to be grateful to God for this year. Thank God for life, “a living dog is better than a dead lion,” “to the living there is hope.” If you’re in prison there is hope you can come out; if you’re sick there is hope of healing; if you’re broke and in debt there is hope you can be rich and debt free; if you’re unemployed you can get a job or create one; if your business is not doing well, things can turn around. No matter your condition, as long as you’re alive, there is hope for you. Begin from there, thank God for life. It’s His gift.
Appreciate your life and be grateful to God for it. Wiser people, more careful people, more righteous people, younger people, healthier people are no more. What you don’t appreciate, depreciates. Be grateful.
