“I and My Father are one.” Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.” Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ‘?

John 10:30-34 NKJV

The greatest damage sin did to man is the damage to his identity, his sense of self-worth, his self-image.  The fall of man is a fall of identity, that is, our identification with God, as bona-fide gods here on earth.

The sheer thought, or idea that you’re a god is forbidden in the religious circle, unacceptable by the moralist, too high for the socialite, and an aberration and unpardonable sacrilege to the religious elite, yet that’s Who God made us to be and that’s What He calls us. “YOU’RE gods and ALL of you children of the most High God.”

Not accepting what God calls you is not humility, it is inferiority complex. Imagine your child acting and living like one of your pets and chooses to adopt the name of your housemaid or your dog “Bingo”, and when asked why, he answers “My Dad is too rich, too intelligent, too powerful, too creative, too perfect for ordinary me to assume or accept son-ship of him.” He replies. “I’m just too way down here compared to him, actually it’s an honor to be associated with his dogs, and he is my object of adoration not of identification.” You will ask the mother where she got the child from.

You didn’t ask for it, work for it, God by Himself and by His choice made you human in His own likenesses and calls you god, please accept it.
