For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
Isaiah 54:10 NKJV
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Hebrews 4:15 NKJV
Mountain and hills are used typologically to represent and express solidity, stability, un-changeability, reliability, dependability, resilience and consistency. So we have expressions like; as solid as a hill, as immovable as a mountain etc. Titanic was acclaimed to be the most unsinkable ship at some point in history but alas, that statement didn’t hold true.
There are times in our lives, moments when these sure, solid, immovable figures in our life may fail to be there; it may be a job, a friend, parents, an uncle, an aunt or relationships.
Often, we try to find an explanation for the circumstances of life. We try to understand and give interpretation to things happening to us. I prayed and fasted; I confessed the word. I did all I know to do yet this happened or that happened. While we may not understand the ways of God, we can trust His love.
If we will quit trying to understand “why this” or “why that” and simply rest on the love of God we’ll have peace. The only person that does not change is God. Even when everything seems to be falling apart all around you. When friends and family fail. When your own strength and investments fail or even when you fail yourself. There’s something that can never fail; God’s Love.
