If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3: 1-2 NKJV
We are to make everything Christ has done for us our meditation; victory over sin, sickness, poverty and death. We are to set our minds on Christ as our advocate, intercessor, the high priest of our profession, the captain of our army, the conqueror of hell and death, the blood that speaks for us, etc.
Set your mind on things above and not on things on the earth. Take a pause for a moment and examine the things in your mind, the subject matter that has occupied your mind, and the images that have filled your mind in the last 1 hour. Pay attention to what you have been thinking of for the past 2 days. Will you say your mind has been set on things above or on things on the earth? Fear, pain, hurt, lust, confusion, failure, lack, yourself, your situation, limitations and weaknesses.
Three hallmarks of a mind set on things above are Peace, Joy and Certainty. Your life travels in the direction of your mind. Your life takes the form of your predominant thoughts. Your life hatches what your mind incubates. You reflect what you continually behold. Your mind sets the sail of your life.
