“To set” implies a deliberate, purposeful, conscious act. Something that requires your effort, time and commitment. Something that is intentional. Like a sailor sets a sail, like a pilot sets the compass, you are to take hold of your mind and channel it in the direction it should go.

Being raised is done for us, but living in and operating from the realm we have been raised to require knowledge, information and effort on our part. We need to live deliberately from that realm and it begins with knowing what exists in that realm and focusing our minds on it.

The bible is very clear on what we are to do. “Seek or set your mind on those things which are above where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God.” The question now is what are those things where Christ is seated? The clue is – what are the things at the right hand of God?

We know from the scriptures that the right hand of God is the place of power, authority, grace, joy, peace, righteousness, victory, abundant life, creativity, dominion, royalty, priesthood, unending pleasures, etc. These are the things to set our minds on.
