Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.
Proverbs 4:23 GNT
Who you are, that is, the quality of your thinking, your mental attitude, your belief system and thinking process not only affect everything you do but also determine what you do and how you do them which ultimately impact your outcome in life.
Therefore learn to watch the thoughts you think. How do you interpret things in the life of others? Do you see more negatives in every situation and in everyone? Are you excited about life? Or are you always cautious and careful? Suspicious of everything and everyone? Do you find more problems with an idea or more ways to make a difficult task work?
The scriptures tell us to watch our thoughts, “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.” (Proverbs 4:23 GNT). One way to guard your heart, to keep your mind from thoughts and ideas that are self-sabotaging is to watch the seed you’re allowing to enter and grow in your mind. This includes the books you read, the things you listen to, the people you hang out with, the movies you watch, and the comedies you consume. Just the same way we watch what goes into our mouth to maintain a healthy body, we need to do even much more for our minds for a healthy mind in order to have a successful life. The quality of your mind determines and affects how you approach life and what you do with what comes your way and ultimately the outcome of your life. A great mind turns a stumbling block into a stepping stone and a mediocre mind makes a molehill into a mountain of obstacle and excuses.
