Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2 NKJV
Dearest reader, welcome to today’s devotional. Yesterday we established that pressure is a commonplace phenomenon where success is concerned. However, it does not necessarily have to break a believer because there are a few things that should help your steadfastness.
What sustains you and powers you through the time of needs, setbacks, failures, challenges, slow paced progress, is what I called the Power-Twin of vision and passion. Let’s talk about vision and how it keeps you going.
Vision is seeing the invisible. The clarity of this invisible sight in you determines the things you’re able to surmount, releases in you an unimaginable energy to endure, overcome, pursue and keep pursuing a dream that often appears absurd and a complete waste of time, talent and resources to many people.
It is the clarity of this invisible dream or goal that powers you through the jeers of the naysayers, through the criticism of the ill-informed, through the loving appeal of the concerned, through the intelligent reasoning and logical counsel of the wise. You can see within you what nobody sees, you know and feel within you something that none other sees, knows, feels nor appreciates. It is this clarity with the certainty and joy that come with it that powers you through all the challenges and pressure.
Hear what the bible has to say about the Lord Jesus, our greatest example of all time, “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2 NKJV).
