A devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always. About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius!” And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, “What is it, Lord?” So he said to him, “Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God. Now send men to Joppa, and send for Simon whose surname is Peter. He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea. He will tell you what you must do.”
Acts 10:2-6 NKJV
Cornelius was fasting and praying, and his prayers drew an angel, brought about a ministration that caused a ripple effect not only in his life but also in that of his family, nation and the church. Indeed the heartfelt prayer of the righteous is effective. “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” (James 5:16 AMPC).
Our prayers make tremendous power available which causes things to begin to happen in the natural. Let’s observe the dynamic nature of prayer in Cornelius. His prayers led to God sending an angel. God heard his prayers and His attention was drawn to all he had been doing namely alms. Prayer draws the attention of heaven to you and your needs. And it sparks up series of events for the fulfilment of God’s purpose and our answered prayers.
Don’t stop praying and if you haven’t already started, the time is now because things, incredible things happen when we pray.
