For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it  not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.

For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

Hebrews 4:2 NKJV

It is your response to the Word that determines its impact in your life, not the anointing of the preacher, not the medium of communication, nor the ambience but how you received the Word. The above scriptures describe the experience of two different congregations. To one the Word effectively works in them to produce, salvation, security, healing, prosperity, progress. To the other, though the same Word came, it profited them nothing, and the reason was not in the quality or eloquence of the preacher, his age or gender, the atmosphere of the church, but rather in the quality of their response.

Which congregation describes you, which of these two churches do you attend? It’s time to stop the lame excuses and make the shift. Receive the Word of God as true and see the manifestation of His glory in your life. May your life bear the testimony of the love and power of the word made flesh.
