Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!” Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” Nathanael answered and said to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I SAID TO YOU, ‘I SAW YOU UNDER THE FIG TREE,’ do YOU BELIEVE? YOU WILL SEE GREATER THINGS THAN THESE.” And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”
John 1:47-51 NKJV
Nathaniel’s faith in Jesus’ word of knowledge about him opened to him a door to God’s greater manifestation. His faith in the statement of Jesus provoked a commitment from the Holy God to a mortal man. Jesus made a vow to him, “Most assuredly I say unto you…” God made a commitment to man, why? Simply because he believed His Word to him. The key to experiencing more of God is to value, cherish, hold in high esteem and respond with faith to every seemingly ‘simple’ word or ‘little’ spiritual encounter we receive from God.
Faith is what moves God. The response of faith makes an everyday man to becoming God’s special candidate. Faith is the key to a never ending progression with God. It is the key to moving from glory to glory. Because I said this and you believe me you will see greater Glory. Faith is an essential element in our walk with God and work for God. Each time we respond to His Word in faith, we open the door for more of God.
However, the prerequisite, the foundation to responding to God’s Word in faith is a heart that honors God and values His Word. When you hold God’s Word in high esteem, no matter the vessel or the channel through which it comes, you will always be in a position to respond in faith and obedience. Check the state of your heart today, how much does God and His Word weigh in your life?
May God be highly esteemed in your heart and may you experience a never ending progressive revelation of God in Jesus name.
