Continued from yesterday…

There are several things which attract challenges into our lives. Let us take a brief look at a few of them. The things that attract challenges into our lives include:

  1. Our beliefs.
  2. Our thoughts. The thoughts and imaginations we nurse and sustain. Because at the end of the day, as a man thinks in his heart so he is.
  3. Our words. We are either condemned by our own words or justified by them. The scripture says, “Surely as you’ve spoken in mine ears so will I do unto you… The words of fools invite the rod.
  4. The Word of God. Temptation often comes as a result of the word. This generally manifests as the trying of our faith.
  5. Our dreams and ambitions. Typical lessons on this can be deduced from the life of Joseph, David and Daniel. Envy, jealousy, and insecurity are commonly birthed under the atmosphere of dreams and ambitions.
  6. Our ignorance. The scripture expressly puts it as “My people perish for lack of knowledge.”
  7. Our foolishness/disobedience. Adam and Eve are classic exhibits of the manner of trouble that disobedience can introduce into a man’s life. After all, you are the servant of whom you yield yourself to.
  8. And then, Godliness just comes with persecution. They that must live godly in this world must suffer persecution. You can expect to receive double where persecution is concerned. Daniel did in the lion’s den, Joseph did in prison.

All of the above are the featuring actors that play out in scenes of our lives to produce our experiences, however good and however undesirable.

I showed us the above not to make us feel helpless or defeated but to draw our attention to some of these players that can be helped. Because even if some are beyond our control, there are quite a few on the list above that we can control. And I’m pretty sure that at this point it is beyond obvious what category each falls underneath.

Your job is to identify them, so what are you waiting for? Go ahead. Before now, these actors may have plagued you but that does not mean they have to reprise their roles forever.
