There was a little city with few men in it; and a great king came against it, besieged it, and built great snares around it. Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that same poor man. Then I said: “Wisdom is better than strength. Nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.”

Ecclesiastes 9:14-16 NKJV

People listen to successful people. People find it a lot easier to believe successful people. People naturally follow successful people. If you start out life charismatic and possess natural charm, you will enjoy following but as time goes by, especially if you’re not successful in your career, your following will wane and fewer people will be swayed by your charm and charisma. You may still have some cliques of people who listen to you but the number will be few. Less and less people will trust you or value what you have to offer, because there are no results.

God’s will is success. He has also mapped out strategies for a successful life and living. If you follow His Word you will turn out a great success. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8 NKJV).

It is important to God that you succeed. He wants you to succeed, because success puts you in a position of leadership, it gives you a voice, it opens doors to you, it brings you before kings, it gives you the attention of people that matter and creates a seat for you at the table where policies are formulated and where the destiny and direction of nations are determined.

With success comes influence. When you succeed in your field of endeavor, you become a community man, a national man and even a global man. Everyone wants to listen to what you have to say, your opinion becomes highly valued and sought after.

If people with immoral and ungodly values continue to succeed then they become the sought after voices and inspiration for the younger generation. They can then influence culture and determine values with little or no effort. Success is that powerful. However, if the godly succeed, they are positioned and poised to change the culture around them, influence the society and draw men to God. This is the endgame of the believer’s success.
