O You who hear prayer, To You all flesh will come.

Psalms 65:2 NKJV

God answers prayers. He is a prayer answering God. Hearing prayers is not just something He does it is who He is, you can come to Him. He will hear and answer your prayers. Listen to what Jesus says about God answering prayers. “Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard Me. And I know that YOU ALWAYS HEAR ME, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that you sent me” (John 11:41-42 NKJV). Jesus says God always hear Him. Why? Because He is a prayer answering God.

The early Apostles also have this testimony: Apostle James wrote, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5 NKJV).

John the beloved further testifies to the prayer answering nature of God, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ASK ANYTHING according to His will, HE HEARS US. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (I John 5:14-15 NKJV). Because of His prayer answering nature Jesus further asserts and admonished “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8 NKJV). All these are testaments to the nature of God to answer prayers.

The Bible is full of testimonies of this awesome nature of God, when Solomon asked for wisdom God gave it to him and added much more than he requested. Jabez called on God, though not a Jew, yet God didn’t turn him down and his life was transformed through this prayer answering God. Hezekiah’s prophetic sentence was over turned after he prayed to God who answers prayer. Father Abraham’s intercession for Sodom and Gomorrah was never turned down, despite the evil they constituted and His decision to overthrow them God still listened to Abraham’s plea and was willing to consent to his plea and as far as Abraham went, God answered. Elimelech, Abraham’s servant called on God concerning his assignment to fetch a godly wife for Isaac from a land foreign to him and He answered speedily. In the book of Esther, a decree to exterminate the Jews was overturned and the enemies became the victims of their own plot after they called on the prayer answering God. The early church called on the prayer answering God and the place where they prayed shook when He answered.

These are just a few examples. But alas, there’s more.

To be continued…
