Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luke 10:19 NKJV
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
John 13:34-35 NKJV
The church that must walk in victory over the world and shine forth God’s glory while bringing the world to her knee must be a church with a number of features.
A church that must walk in victory must be a church that walks in the supernatural power of God. Every believer, man or woman, boy or girl, child or adult, lay or preacher has access by the power of the Holy Spirit and authority in the name of Jesus through the revelation of the written Word to walk in the supernatural at all times and in every area of life. Jesus said “and you shall receive Power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” The Apostle Paul declared, “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power” (I Corinthians 4:20 NKJV). The Lord Jesus commissioned us with power and authority over Satan and his kingdom. Walking in the supernatural power of God is not an option for every child of God. We need the power of God at work in our lives to combat the devil and all kinds of demonic practices. We need the power of God to set people free from the oppression of Satan and demonic powers. We need the power of God to proffer and provide solutions to human problems.
A church that will shine forth God’s glory must be a people of character and love. The church should be an example of integrity, sound moral standing, excellence, truth, and trustworthiness. The apostle Paul wrote, “But if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” (I Timothy 3:15 NKJV). The people of the church are to be examples of godliness and love amidst hate, bitterness and darkness. “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the Word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain” (Philippians 2:14-16 NKJV). The church in every sphere of life must be an icon of love, integrity and excellence. Daniel was such an example. He wowed his world in such a way that they acknowledged the spirit of excellence in him. They testified that the spirit of the Lord was in him.
The questions we need to ask ourselves now are as follows – “Do I walk in the supernatural power of God?” “Am I a person of character and love?’
