Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Christianity is supernatural, but the supernatural life of God is only activated in the life of the believer by following both the written word and divine instructions.

When a believer starts out their Christian journey, all they have is faith. Faith in Jesus Christ the messiah. This faith activates the power of God to go to work in our lives. However, this faith-triggered power of God is only released by acting on the Word of God. The proof that you believe the Word of God is that you act upon it.

Every word of God carries the power of God to produce after its kind. Every promise of God carries the power to produce after its kind. The word of God concerning healing, when acted upon, releases the power of God that brings healing. Naman the Syrian experienced this in 2 kings 5:10 “go and wash in Jordan River 7 seven times.” There were better rivers and so it is evident that it was not the river but the power backing the instruction.

The word of God concerning favor when acted upon releases the power of God and the angels of favor to bring it to pass in your life. When you act on the Word of God concerning holiness the power of God to produce holy living is released into your life. So you see, the word, when acted upon is very potent.
