Continued from yesterday…

While consuming our modern day media often leads to depression, desperation, confusion, haste compromise, self-flagellation and sometimes suicide, reading God’s media fills us with hope, faith, inspiration, motivation and encouragement. It does not only show you the end product but graphic descriptions of the phases, stages, consequences and conclusion so you could choose your path. In God’s media you will read encouraging words like “No temptation (test, trial, challenges, difficulties) has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV). Reassuring you that you’re not the only one going through this, it’s not peculiar to you and it won’t swallow you up because God will ensure it doesn’t.

Now it encourages me to know, I’m not alone in this and to know God has got me rather than judging me. You read motivating words like “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing” (James 1:2-4 NKJV). Or the one which says “For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off” (Proverbs 23:18 KJV).

While one fills you with anxiety, the other gives you hope, while one fills you with fear and induces compromise, cutting corners, taking shortcuts, and whatever it takes to succeed, the other fills you with inspiring stories of faith, courage, perseverance, and patience. Thereby allowing you to grow at your own pace and assuring you of the path that leads to a glorious end. When you read Abraham and Sarah, Joseph the prisoner who became prime minister, Esther the slave who became queen, David the inexperienced lad who fell the veteran warrior, Deborah a woman who led warriors in victorious campaign, Hannah the humiliated and ridiculed barren who cried unto God and was blessed with a prime prophet of Israel, Saul turned Paul a persecutor who encountered Christ and became the bearer of the gospel he once killed for; you see that God’s media is beautiful. It will leave you full of life, hope, wisdom and faith. It will fill you with love, patience, grace and insight. Over and above the world media, consume God’s media and the effect will be health and life.
