For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Hebrews 5:12-14 NKJV

Continued from yesterday…

When you fail to grow as you ought to, you can’t be of maximum use to God. There are certain errands we don’t send kids, because they are not mature enough to execute them. No matter how eager they are, how willing they’re.

When my little niece was 3 she always wanted to help with house chores and when she was told she couldn’t, she would cry herself to sleep. On one of such occasions, she insisted on doing the dishes in the kitchen and her mum told her she couldn’t, then she reminded her mum, “But mum you told me I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.” The mother stood in amazement and finally responded, “Yes you can do all things through Christ, when you are mature enough to handle it.”

You see when you quote God’s Word to Him, He points you to the place of growth. You need to grow spiritually, you need to grow in your walk and work with God, you need to grow in following God in order to be trusted with certain levels of assignments in life. God may plant the seed of a dream in your heart: to lead a great nation, to build an economic empire, build a great ministry etc. Whatever it is, growth is required to stand in it. For unto us a child is born, but the child must grow into a son to be released unto us to serve the Father’s purpose.

Your lack of spiritual growth is delaying your entrance into the fullness of your inheritance in Christ. The world is not waiting for babes of God, but sons of God. Men and women who are fully formed in the things of the Spirit. They’re the ones who will manifest the incomparable wisdom and power of God.
