A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Luke 6:45 NKJV

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Colossians 3:16 NKJV

The scriptures have said by your words you will be justified or condemned. Your tongue charts the course of your life, the Lord says you will have what you say, so when you’re confronted with life crisis and find yourself under intense pressure; family pressure, financial pressure, health challenges, social injustice, unanswered prayers, deadlines, unforeseen circumstances, unfavorable situations etc., what you’re filled with is what comes out of your mouth.

Word of life or words of death, words of victory or defeat. For the scripture says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” (Proverbs 18:21 NKJV) but if you’re not saturated with the Word of life, it becomes difficult if not impossible to manufacture one in emergencies. “God forbid,” “back to sender,” “it is not my portion,” and several other church lingual and clichés will not suffice to sustain you, wage war against the enemy, overcome temptations and reclaim your victory.

Hence the bible admonishes us to “let the words of Christ dwell in you RICHLY, SUFFICIENTLY, ABUNDANTLY.” Somebody may ask – “how do we allow it to dwell in us richly?” Joshua 1:8 answers that “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it daily…” DAILY reading, speaking the word and pondering on the scriptures are the sure means by which we’re filled to full.

Never once in a while or weekly, but daily and when the pressure of life comes, what’s within you is what will flow forth naturally and ceaselessly. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly from now on.
