Growing up, my dad taught me that it is very important to know the manifesto of the different political parties, so as to make informed decisions during the elections. He would take his time to enumerate and enlighten me about the manifesto of the prominent political parties of the time – UPN, NPN, PRP etc. The manifesto sets the expectation of the electorate. As I grew older, I discovered there is no party without a good manifesto. In fact in most cases in Nigeria, their manifestos are similar but the undermining issue is the character behind the manifesto. What determines the strength and the reliability of any manifesto is the quality, the character, the competence, knowledge, expertise and integrity of the men behind the manifesto. 

God has declared His manifesto concerning you and I. He has declared His agenda, His commitment to us and He has brought all of heaven, earth, His entire creation and all of Himself to bear saying, “In blessing I will bless you, in multiplying I will multiply you”. Here is God’s manifesto towards us and ALL of God is backing His manifesto. We can trust the character of Him who has promised, we know the competence of the God behind the manifesto; His Love perfected on the cross; His Power demonstrated at resurrection; His faithfulness unquestionable; His wisdom beyond finding; His love unconditional. He is merciful, gracious, kind and forgiving. Won’t you rather sign up with Him today? It is time to dig deeper into the manifesto of life, to set our expectations in life and determine our experience in life, because “faithful is He who has promised, Who also will do it”.

Therefore cast not away your confidence, hold on to the Word. The character behind the manifesto does not fail.
