“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

Joshua 1:8 NKJV

We learnt that our thoughts define us. For as a man thinks and continues to think in his heart, that’s what he becomes. The scripture says, the thoughts we permit to dominate our minds will shape our lives. Therefore we are to pay close attention to our thoughts.

God knowing the importance of our thoughts and the role they play in shaping our lives, instructed us on things to think about (Philippians 4:8). Thinking, especially positive thinking, must be deliberate and intentional. You have to constantly and consciously focus your mind on good, positive and productive things.

Keeping one’s mind on positive, healthy and progressive thoughts is a major challenge in our day, with lots of negative news and information flying all around us. When you flip through the dailies, switch on the TV, or browse through the internet, it’s all news of woes and doom. It is therefore difficult to find seeds of good thoughts to plant and nurture in one’s mind.

The TV doesn’t have it, it can’t be found in the dailies, and neither can the internet guarantee it.

But contained in the Word of God is a blue print of the quality of life we all desire to live. The quality of life that is already ours in Christ Jesus. It is a blue print of the man and woman God has ordained us to be. In the Word we can find good news of hope, love, joy, peace, salvation, prosperity, mercy, restoration, provision, divine intervention, reward of faithfulness etc. to think about.

Contained in God’s Word are seed thoughts we can plant in our minds to experience transformation and have good success.
