Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus. When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”

Luke 5:17-20 NKJV

The power of God is always present to meet our needs. There is no need too big for God to meet, there’s no desire so great that cannot be met, there’s no challenge too unsurmountable for God, no sickness or disease beyond His healing power. There’s no one too far gone in sin that cannot experience the love, mercy and restoration of God. No failure too great beyond redemption. The challenge many times is the inability of man to approach the throne of mercy.

Everyone who approached Jesus got their miracles whether convenient or not. What really determines what you desire is your unchanging expectation, your relentlessness. Notice in the above scripture, the power of God was present to heal them, but nothing happened. The power didn’t do anything though it was available. The power of God, like a switch, had to be activated. What activates the power of God is our expectations.

The power of God is available even now to change your life, to change your story, to change your circumstances, to meet your needs, to help with your struggles and bring about the progress you desire. However, this power needs activation, this power responds to your faith, your firm belief, your relentless pursuit of it. Though present, nothing happens until someone activates it.

PRAYER: Father, help me to always have relentless expectations that will activate your power to work in my life in Jesus’ name.
