By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Hebrews 11:3 NKJV
Notice, this scripture reveals God’s way of talking, how God speaks. It’s important that as children of God, if we must successfully imitate Him, we must understand His style of talking. Now, no father in the natural will be comfortable with his child barking like a dog, or mewing like a cat. You want your child to talk like you. In the same vein, God wants us to talk like Him.
God speaks in past tense. God speaks to situations. He does not describe the situation or talk about it, rather he speaks to it. God calls things that be not as though they were.
Tomorrow, we’ll take a look at some examples of God’s language structure.
