“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses”.

I Timothy 6:12 NKJV

Because of the nature of our adversary (Satan – a liar, deceiver, thief and manipulator) there’s a need for us to fight to keep what Jesus has won for us.

Righteousness is our new status in Christ. “For He who knew no sin became sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.”

“Himself TOOK our infirmities and CARRIED our diseases and by His STRIPES we were HEALED.” Our health status by reason of the sacrifice of Christ reveals that we are already healed. Jesus further gave us the Holy Spirit to quicken us and give life to our physical mortal body, thereby rejuvenating us and making us sickness and disease free (Romans 8:11).

“Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor that we through His poverty might be made rich.” There is a great exchange of His riches for our poverty, changing our status to that of riches and wealth.

God has not given us the spirit of fear and we have not received the spirit of fear again unto bondage.

These reveal our new status in Christ and how they came to be, but our adversary and former slave master, the devil, seeks to keep us from experiencing and enjoying our new status in Christ. Hence, the need for us to fight the good fight of Faith.
