And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:2 NKJV

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

James 1:21 NKJV

As a believer your spirit is saved, that is, born again, but your soul (mind, will and emotions) is not, but has the capacity of transformation. The scriptures tell us that the word of God is the instrument through which our minds experiences transformation.

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” The word transformation as used here also means Metamorphosis. Metamorphosis is the process by which you move from one state to another. Metamorphosis is an irreversible and irreconcilable change.

For me the metamorphosis of an ugly, crawling, irritating caterpillar into a beautiful, flying, adorable and attractive butterfly best explains the word metamorphosis and paints the picture of the possibilities available to us when we renew our minds with the word of God.

True change, lasting change and permanent change only takes place from within. Most times when we focus on trying to change our external experience instead of changing our internal configuration, it’s like trying to kill a tree by cutting the branches; it doesn’t yield lasting result.

No matter who you are, where you are right now in life, no matter the struggles and challenges you’re going through in life, irrespective of your pedigree and limitations, you have the capacity to be transformed into an irreconcilable image through the word of God.

If you will take the word of God and plant it daily into your mind, unconsciously and without struggle it will begin to effect a change in your life.

We have dwelt on this stage in life for too long, it’s time to metamorphose.
