“The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old.

Proverbs 8:22 NKJV

Hmm, very interesting. Amazing revelation. When you talk about God and how He works, what readily comes to mind is His might and power, hence our desire, prayer and fasting for the power of God, (which is not bad). But here the Bible reveals wisdom as a key player in creation. Wisdom is like the unknown or less talked about member of God’s team in creation.

Wisdom declared, “The Lord possessed me before He commenced the work of creation, that is, the Lord couldn’t start the work of creation without me (wisdom). I had to be present and involved from the beginning. I was part of the team from conception phase to completion.” Wow! Before we allow our religious minds fight this “heresy,” why not be patient and take out time to read the entire chapter 8 over and over again.

Could this be what is missing among Nigerian believers? Could this be the answer to why we’re so religious and yet so underdeveloped? Have we focused so much on one side of the coin (power) and neglected the other side of the coin (wisdom)? Therefore, losing what is required to actually shine and show forth the glory of God? Do not take my word for it, this is just the musing of a searching soul. A lot of what we use in the world today can be regarded as a product of wisdom, and the Lord possessed wisdom before creation. Hmm.

While we pray for power, wisdom is to be sought. We are not meant to choose either of them. “All things are yours.”

I believe it is the combination of both the power and wisdom of God working in the life of an individual that brings about great manifestation in any sphere of human endeavor and brings the world to its knees to bow to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in these last days.
