“But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him.”
Luke 15:28 NKJV
The Bible says let those who are strong bear the infirmities of those who are weak. Sometimes, those who are supposedly strong can’t see past their own strength, their own ways and are a lot of times self-conceited. And therefore, they cannot stand the weakness, failures and mistakes of others, forgetting that we are all products of God’s grace and recipients of God’s mercy. We often forget we are who we are only by the grace of God. We become judgmental and critical of others,
But if the Lord shall mark iniquities who shall stand? (Ps.130:3).
We need to learn to be gracious and supportive of the weak among us. Those who are still struggling with one bad habit or another, those who are still struggling to stand, those suffering from feelings of rejection due to the failures and mistakes of the past, should be made to feel loved and accepted. Healing and restoration take place in an atmosphere of true forgiveness, love and acceptance.
Be imitators of God as dear children (Eph.5:1). Be like your Father God, be forgiving, be tolerant, support the feeble, be patient with the struggling, help the weary and encourage the downcast. Let love be without deceit.
