“And he arose and came to his father. BUT WHEN HE WAS STILL A GREAT WAY OFF, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.”
Luke 15:20 NKJV
In this parable, Jesus revealed to us the heart and attitude of our Father God to us. (Please take time to read this verse of scripture over and again). God’s eagerness to restore the lost is so overwhelming. Dear child of God, when you have missed it, squandered His grace, blown your opportunities and wasted His resources on your life, when you’ve realized your mistakes and foolishness, don’t run from Him rather run to Him. The Father’s Love awaits you not cane; restoration not punishment; celebration not judgment.
Now, this is too much for our natural minds to conceive, too high for our religious thinking to accept. Our traditional mind can’t comprehend it, but it is okay. We are not God and He is not man. Therefore, we just accept His truth and appreciate His love.
Don’t punish yourself when you fail, He is not punishing you. The best place to run to is to the Father, He will run toward you, cleanse you and restore you. Your Pastor may judge you, your church may condemn you, but know that your Father will restore you. Keep your focus on your Heavenly Father.
To the lost I say come home, to the man and woman who have missed it, your Father is waiting. Please come home. To those who have wasted His resources and grace upon their lives, come home, where Love awaits you.
