For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

Proverbs 23:18 KJV

Often times, we go through stuff in life, get stuck in a particular stage or phase of life that appears endless. Sometimes it gets so long that it becomes a label or an identity we are known by: that unemployed guy; that professional student; that broke guy; that senior bachelor or matured spinster etc.

God is telling us this morning, that surely, certainty, definitely, and most assuredly there is an end. There is an end to whatever you’re going through, there is an end to that phase of life you appear to be stuck with, there is an end to that sickness, there is an end to the failing business, and there is an end to that negative cycle and repetitive failure.

“…And your expectation shall not be cut off.”

The devil seeks to fill our minds with hopelessness, but the Psalmist says, “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living” (Psalms 27:13 NKJV).

Our expectation is what God works with, our expectation is the key to transformation. Paul said “I believed it shall be unto me even as it was told me.” What are your expectations? The best way to create a positive expectation in a negative circumstance is to fill our mind with the Word of God. It becomes the basis of our belief and sets the direction of our expectation.

Whatever you’re going through today, know that SURELY THERE IS AN END and YOUR EXPECTATION SHALL NOT BE CUT OFF.
